creeps crabs cyborgs
short project description video for Amarte Fonds ontwikkelbijdrage.
Relating to the cyborg, feeling so trained into objectification and dissociation that an empathy and connection forms with hyper-sexualised ai, feeling a protectiveness over their inability to consent and projecting experiences onto them. Sometime I literally feel as if I have been programmed to perform by the narratives of film and media and the repercussions this has on your psyche after the fact. Discussing sex robots is a means to dig in to consent, corrupted consent and the reality of many sexual experiences taking place in our human reality.
Contention around hyper-sexual artificial intelligence does not introduce a human-robot tension, it also does not bring to a light a novel experience of the technological future. It emphasises the damage in our human-human relations, ones that have been regurgitated uncritically time and time again, reproducing dangerous dynamics.
